Two day Conference

The 3rd Annual IAF Conference is Postponed due to Covid.

The IAF committee had an emergency meeting on 27th Octobe to discuss the increase in COVID cases in Ireland, and new predictions from our health authority (NPHET) about likely increases in COVID in November. NPHET predict that numbers will continue to rise to about 8k per day, with a worst-case scenario of 24k in mid-November (see, https://covid19.healthdata.org/ireland?view=infections-testing&tab=trend&test=infections).

Our concern is with delegates health and safety and the increased likelihood of a conference causing a further cluster in COVID. Unfortunately, given the current projections we have decided to postpone the conference with the possibility of re-scheduling to Spring 2022. We are very sorry to have to convey this at such a late stage, but unfortunately the IAF had assumed that with Ireland’s very high vaccination rate (90% over 12s) that COVID would diminish greatly by mid-November.
